Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce to Launch Lemonade Day Countywide
May 05, 2024

The Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce has announced that they have partnered with Vanguard Sentinel Career and Technology Center, Croghan Colonial Bank, and Nicole Miller - State Farm Insurance Agent, to launch Lemonade Day countywide this year.

The Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce became the second Ohio community last year to participate in a Lemonade Day, a hands-on entrepreneurship program, with the launch of Lemonade Day Tiffin.

Lemonade Day Tiffin saw eight students from Tiffin set up their Lemonade Day stands throughout the community on August 5 and 6 last year. Based on feedback from the community, the Chamber partnered with additional community supporters to launch the program countywide this year.

Lemonade Day will conclude with the opportunity for participants to set up a lemonade stand on Saturday, June 8 from 9 AM to 1 PM at the Tiffin Seneca Farmers Market. Those who are interested in signing up for the program can do so online at www.lemonadeday.org/Seneca-County.

Lemonade Day is a national non-profit organization dedicated to teaching youth important business, financial, character-building and life skills that are the key ingredients of entrepreneurship. Paving a pathway to self-actualization and transformative change, Lemonade Day’s experiential entrepreneurship program yields a burst of growth mindsets. Over 16 years, Lemonade Day has served over 1.5 million young children and grown to be licensed in 100+ markets across North America.

Chaperoned by one or more caring adults, who serves as youth mentors, these young business owners set up their lemonade stands in schools, parks, neighborhoods, places of worships, retail centers, marketplaces, and other public spaces to maximize their sales opportunities. Kids who participate in Lemonade Day are taught how to set goals, develop a business plan and pitch their plan to seek an investment, be creative through brand and marketing, and put their plan into action to achieve their dreams. They are encouraged to spend some of their hard-earned money on themselves; save some and open a bank account and share some with a charity.

Once signed up, children will have access to the Lemonade Day curriculum, which includes lessons on how to create budgets, profit-making goals, customer service, interactions with investors as well as giving back to their community. Children can access the curriculum through the interactive Lemonade app, which is highly encouraged, or they can pick up a physical workbook at the Chamber office, 96 South Washington Street, Suite B, in Tiffin.
