The Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce has announced a new partnership with Old Fort Banking Company that allows them to continue to grow their Chamber Cash program to support small businesses in Seneca County.

The Chamber Cash program, founded in December 2010, has seen a significant increase in usage over the years with a record number of purchases this year. To date this year, community members have purchased nearly $40,000 in Chamber Cash that will directly support small businesses in Seneca County. In the month of December alone, the Chamber will write more than $15,000 in Chamber Cash that will be used for gifts for the holiday season.

Chamber Cash is a local gift certificate program and is a zero-cost and zero-risk program for Chamber member companies redeeming the certificates as well as for individuals purchasing them. The program has more than 140 local businesses that accept Chamber Cash and a full list of participating businesses can be found on the Chamber website at TiffinChamber.com/Chamber-Cash.  Certificates are easy to order, easy to redeem and perfect gift for anyone on your list. Individuals looking to purchase Chamber Cash can call the Chamber office at 419-447-4141 or email DMartorana@TiffinChamber.com. They are available in $5, $10, $25 and $50 denominations.

Old Fort Banking Company, established in 1916 and now employee-owned, has always made community support and local businesses the cornerstone of its community banking philosophy. Earlier this year, the bank processed more than 660 PPP loans to support small businesses during the coronavirus pandemic, and it also recently announced that, combined with the Gillmor Charitable Foundation, it has exceeded $2M in charitable giving donations since 2007.

Tyler Webb, Commercial Banker at OFBC and Chamber Board Member, said he is grateful for this local partnership. “As a community bank, we believe it is our responsibility to develop strong roots in each community we serve, through both financial support and employee involvement. Chamber Cash gives us an additional opportunity to support small businesses in Seneca County, especially in today’s times.”

Chamber Board Chair and Provost of Tiffin University Peter Holbrook said, “This partnership represents everything that makes Tiffin and Seneca County special. We realize that the Chamber is only as strong as our 363 members and our partners that help make our community a better place to live, work and play.”
