Seneca County Job & Family Services and T-SEP Announce a New Multi-County Industrial Wage & Benefits Survey
April 20, 2021

Seneca County Job & Family Services (JFS) and Tiffin-Seneca Economic Partnership (TSEP) announced today that it will be launching a new multi-county industrial Wage & Benefits survey on May 3. The final report will be made available to participants in July and to the general public in the fall.

For years, Seneca County employers have requested the data, and the Seneca County JFS/OhioMeansJobs - Seneca County was able to secure the funding through the Greater Ohio Workforce Board.  JFS and TSEP are working together to coordinate reach out to businesses. Other entities from Seneca County involved in promoting the survey include the Fostoria Economic Development Corporation and the Seneca Regional Chamber.

This survey will be targeted at industrial employers, including manufacturing, logistics, and warehousing. The goal is to survey 250-275 employers in Seneca, Hancock and Wyandot counties. Additionally, Sandusky County Department of Job and Family Services will survey employers in Sandusky, Erie, Huron, and Lucas counties, and that data will be shared with this effort.

Thomas P. Miller and Associates of Indianapolis, Indiana was selected to conduct the survey. TPMA was founded in 1989 and has been completing wage and benefit surveys for the past 15 years in more than 40 states, with clients including small rural towns, state agencies, educational institutions, and publicly traded companies.

Beginning today, TPMA will work with OMJ Seneca County to finalize questions and format for the wage and benefits survey. The survey will be distributed May 3-7 and a final report is expected in July. Companies interesting in participating should contact Carol Kern at carolowen@jfs.ohio.gov or by cell at 419-447-5011 x2322.

Seneca County Department of Job and Family Services Director Kathy Oliver said, “I’m proud that we are able to play a role in securing the funds for this vital program. Carol Kern, Business Services Consultant at OhioMeansJobs - Seneca County, has heard for a while that company leadership have been looking for this data, and we’re glad that we could help make that possible.”
