New Member: Knights of Columbus

Located on 49 East Perry Street in Tiffin Ohio, Knights of Columbus strives to continue to empower Catholic men to live their faith at home, in their parish, at work and in their community. Founded in 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney with a mission of charity gathered a group of men at his parish and proposed establishing an organization to prevent Catholic men from entering secret societies and unite Catholic men. Men within the church were drawn to the Knights because of its emphasis on serving one’s Church, community, and family with virtue. Fraternity and patriotism were added to the Knights’ founding principles of charity and unity in 1885 and 1900, respectively.

Now, charity is at the heart of their work and their faith, just as it always has. For the Knights, charity means supporting a virtually boundless variety of projects including the 3,000 prayer kids that were assembled during the 2022 Warriors to Lourdes trip and sent to Ukrainian soldiers. All donations made to the Knights of Columbus Charities go directly to those they serve through their charitable programs.

With 1.9 million members around the world, Knights of Columbus have been investing their time, effort, and resources into their values of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism since 1882.
