The 3rd annual Tiffin Regatta, a charitable event sponsored by The Tiffin Elks Club and the Bel-Mar Boat Landing, is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 18, 2019. This one-of-a-kind event brings together participants, spectators and volunteers all working together to raise money for the needs of the Tiffin/Seneca County community.
The beneficiaries for this 3rd annual event include the NOAH Foundation along with the Summer Food Program for Kids. Both programs have shown their commitment in the community in the past and are in need of additional funding for continuous programs and outreach.
NOAH (No One Alone or Hungry) started as a Christmas Day event providing gifts and serving Christmas dinner to anyone in the community. Over the years, thousands of local residents have made this an annual event. For many in need, it is the only way they can celebrate the holiday and receive a good meal. Yet, this is not all NOAH contributes to in the community. NOAH also sponsors a Family Fun Day at the park with games, activities, food, and music all geared to promote family togetherness. The Family Fun Day is free and provides families with a day together they may not otherwise be able to afford.
The Summer Food Program for Kids provides nutritious meals during the summer break to area youth, many of whom may not otherwise eat that day. With serving stations around town, volunteers provide a healthy meal three days a week to hungry kids. For a large number of school age kids in the community, the best daily meal they receive is provided by local school’s cafeterias during the school year. With school out, many go hungry. Funds raised by the Regatta will help feed hungry kids during the summer break.
The Regatta committee is very excited for the 3rd annual event and is looking for it to be the largest event yet. All funds raised will help NOAH with their programming as well as providing nutritious food for the children in the community. There are many ways to get involved, including sponsorship opportunities, volunteer opportunities, and entering a team/boat into the event.« Back to « Back to Fundraisers
