Ironworkers Local 55 provides highly skilled craftsman and craftswomen to their signatory union contractors. Their training, certifications and experience are the benchmark for the steel erectors nationwide as well as their state accredited apprenticeship and training centers.

Iron Workers Local 55 is comprised of more than 1,000 of the most highly skilled and trained construction professionals throughout Northwest Ohio.

They are a vital part of the building and construction industry throughout the city of Toledo and across Northwest Ohio, contributing to the countless buildings and structures that adorn our area’s cityscapes. Their members excel in a physically demanding and dangerous trade in order to ensure the safety of area businesses, residents, and visitors by maintaining construction projects that structurally sound and up to code.

They have been serving their contractors and eighteen counties with quality work for 100 years, continuously improving the industry by aggressively training the next generation of construction apprentices and upgrading the skills of their current craftsmen through their state-of-the-art training facility. They strive to keep current with technology for excellent service and safety at the worksite for their members.
