Tiffin University to Host “Good Morning World” – Special Edition

Tiffin University (TU) is pleased to announce that a former tradition is being brought back to campus for a special edition - the Good Morning World Breakfast Lecture Series. The event will take place the morning of Friday, April 29 at 9 a.m. in the Marion Center, with a hot breakfast to be served at 8:30 a.m. This year's speaker is James Morgan, and the theme of his talk is "Insights to Success."

James H. Morgan is a 1969 graduate of Vanderbilt University and has more than 50 years of business experience. After graduating, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1969-1972 and concluded his naval career having earned the rank of lieutenant. Morgan has served as Chairman and/or CEO of several internationally recognized corporations such as Interstate/Johnson Lane, Inc., Wachovia Securities and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc. He is also a former member of the Security Industry Association Board of Directors and the New York Stock Exchange Regional Firms Committee. Morgan currently sits on the Board of Directors for Coca-Cola Bottling Company Consolidated and was previously on the Board of Directors for Lowe’s Home Improvement. He is the current Chairman of Covenant Capital, the general partner of a hedge fund headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina. Mr. Morgan also maintains a lifelong commitment to youth education through his involvement with a number of charitable organizations and extensive philanthropy work.

The Good Morning World lectures were a staple on TU's campus for 38 years and brought with them many interesting speakers and topics throughout their tenure. Dr. George Kidd Jr., Tiffin University’s third President, who also personally hosted the lectures for many years, originally instated the event.

“These lectures were an integral part of our community for such a long time,” says Vickie Wilkins, Director of Alumni Relations. “We knew so many people would be thrilled to attend an event like this again.”
