New Member: Seneca County Common Ground

Seneca County Common Ground was established in 2019 and is a non-profit organization created to support local food and agriculture and promote access to and knowledge of fresh foods for Seneca County residents. Their mission is centered around supporting and improving the local food ecosystem. They strive to support local growers and producers as well as local organizations and community members through education, events, resources, and connection through food. 

Seneca County Common Ground oversees the operations of the Tiffin Seneca Farmers Market, which happens every Saturday during the market season from 9am to 1pm in downtown Tiffin. The Tiffin Seneca Farmers Market provides increased access to fresh, locally produced, safe foods for all people. The market encourages, supports, and promotes the efforts of local, independent, and small scale farmers, as well as local artisan seeking to sell their products directly to customers. The 2023 market season kicks off on May 20th, 2023 and runs until October 28th, 2023, in its new location on Madison St. between Washington and Jefferson. 

Seneca County Common Ground and Old Trinity Episcopal Church, in partnership with numerous community organizations and individuals, are leading the charge to bring Seneca County the Tiffin Community Kitchen Project. The Tiffin Community Kitchen focuses on bringing people together through food in service and education. The Tiffin Community Kitchen is currently housed at 45 S Washington Street, Tiffin, and will one day move to a newly built space that will be added on to Old Trinity Church. The community kitchen aims to partner with farmers markets, host cooking cooperatives, promote the culinary arts, partner with health professionals, host hands-on cooking classes, and facilitate service projects.
