New Family and Children First Director in Seneca County
September 29, 2023

Sandy Hallett has been named the new Seneca County Executive Director of the Family and Children First Council (FCFC). She replaces outgoing director Sharon Thibodeau who was the FCFC lead for more than 20 years. Hallett has served the children and families of Seneca County since moving to Tiffin in 2007. It was that year that she co-founded Seneca Autism Learning and Support Association (SALSA), a nonprofit organization for autism. Her work as a Parent Mentor and most recently, the Family & Community Liaison for a multi-county region has led her to this role.; I am committed to helping empower families to succeed in Seneca County. People are my passion," Hallett stated.

A graduate of Kent State University, Sandy has served on multiple boards in Seneca County including the Seneca County Board of Developmental Disabilities. She has also authored two books on autism: “How Our Children With Autism Raised Us As Parents” and “Raising Ry Ry, My Teenage Son With Autism.”

The FCFC is a partnership of state and local government, communities and families that was established and mandated for all of Ohio's 88 counties in 1993 by the Ohio governor's office. The council's purpose is to enhance the well-being of Ohio's children and families by building community capacity, through coordinating and streamlining systems to help families within the counties in which they live.
