Sisters In Shelter Hires New Director and Case Manager Local non-profit reopens shelter with new leadership
October 18, 2023

Sisters In Shelter announced the hiring of new Director, Jennifer Kin and new Case Manager Constancia Russell.

Jennifer has an extensive background and experience in the field of law enforcement and a proven history of leadership and organizational skills. Her career in law enforcement exposed her to the tragedy of human trafficking and led to her desire to assist women who have been trafficked. Jennifer is also passionate about developing programs for community awareness and human trafficking education programs for youth and their parents. “I want to give back to the community and to empower women who can’t speak for themselves,” says Kin.

Constancia is multilingual, compassionate, and an educator by trade, with a proven commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others.  She has experience in providing support and advocacy, in addition to having assessment skills and the ability to develop individualized plans. Constancia is passionate about using her skills to empower survivors and contribute to community well-being.

“The Board is excited to bring Jennifer and Constancia into the organization,” says Amy Reinhart, Board Chair. “We expect engaging new programs, the increase of community awareness, and the ability to help more women with our new leadership team.”

With the hiring of the new team, Sisters in Shelter is able to reopen the shelter. The shelter provides the opportunity for women to receive the necessary medical and emotional care, safety, and support needed following the incredible trauma they have undergone. It was recently updated to provide a clean, and safe environment for the women to reenter the shelter.

Sisters In Shelter, which began in 2005, is a non-profit organization that supports survivors and illuminates the atrocities of human trafficking through community education and advocacy. Sisters in Shelter provides the critical first needs for women survivors of human trafficking: emergency safe housing, medical care, safety planning and legal advocacy.
