Welcome new member, St. Joseph Catholic Church!

In 1845, the German Catholic settlers in Tiffin requested permission to form a separate congregation from the Italian Catholics. In May of that year, the parishioners bought two acres of land at the intersection of Melmore and South Washington Streets. They built a church building and schoolhouse. Thus, St. Joseph Catholic Church was founded, and Father Brunner said the first Mass on August 24, 1845.

St. Joseph Catholic Church's mission is to bring people to Christ, share Christ's love here on earth, and strive for eternal life with God in Heaven. When visiting St. Joseph, you will be greeted with a smile. The staff and parishioners strive to be compassionate and will go above and beyond to help people in the community.

They are well-known for their St. Joseph Festival, held annually on the second full weekend of July. They also recently hired a faith formation director to help strengthen the faith of young adults and are looking forward to helping the youth in our community.
