Downtown Tiffin Holiday Light Experience Planned for this Friday

Downtown Tiffin Holiday Light Experience Planned for this Friday
November 27, 2023

The Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce and Destination Seneca County have announced the holiday lighting experience will take place in front of the Seneca County Justice Center this Friday, December 1 beginning at 5:15 PM.

The evening will start with holiday music from The Local 419 Community Big Band, an appearance from Santa, and the lighting of community tree and the Seneca County Justice Center. Attendees will also have the opportunity to guess how many lights are on the community tree for a chance to win a themed prize pack.

This year will also feature the return of The CommuniTree Project for its third year. The CommuniTree Project, a Chamber initiative, looks to bring the community together for the holiday season and to beautify the tree for the holidays. More than 450 ornaments will be hung on the tree that were decorated by fifth grade students from Tiffin City Schools, Calvert Catholic Schools, Seneca East Local Schools, Hopewell-Loudon Local Schools, New Riegel Local Schools, Old Fort Local Schools, Bridges Preparatory Academy, and Chamber member businesses. Those who have an ornament hanging on the tree are invited to attend the lighting ceremony to find their ornament and be recognized.

Chamber member, Penn Station East Coast Subs, will be providing free cookies and hot chocolate for attendees during the event. South Washington Street will be blocked off to allow for a safer and more enjoyable viewing experience for those in attendance.

The conclusion of the holiday tree lighting experience will kick off the start of the second annual Kris Kringle Markt in downtown Tiffin taking place on December 1 and 2.

The festival will be an open-air holiday market highlighting German/Bavarian-inspired Christmas offerings. Visitors can enjoy the sounds of live holiday music, the aroma of German food, late-night shopping, children’s activities, and the ambiance of an old-world German Christmas. In addition to the Kris Kringle Markt, the weekend offers a long lineup of holiday themed events throughout Seneca County. More information on events happening throughout the community can be found at DestinationSenecaCounty.org/Calendar.
