Welcome new member, Seneca Proud!

Seneca Proud began as a group of friends who wanted to see a Pride Event in Tiffin. They had all been to other communities' pride events and thought, "Why not us? Why not here?" They decided to host a family-friendly potluck, Pride Picnic, at Hedges Boyer Park in June 2019. They estimated that 25-40 people would show up when planning it. In fact, over the course of the day, over 200 people attended. Clearly, there was a community need for a positive event. That same small group helped organize events each year in June, even through the pandemic. Then, in June 2022, Seneca Proud formally organized and became a 501c(3) non-profit. That same month, they expanded the yearly event into their first festival. Approximately 700 people showed up for their first and second Pride Festivals.

Seneca Proud is a community-based non-profit focused on creating positive events. They provide support, education, and representation for the LGBTQ+ community of Seneca County. Their primary event is the annual pride festival. They also host monthly community events, including a book club and family-style potlucks. They hope to keep growing and provide a positive and welcoming space in Seneca County for all.
