Tiffin University Football Team's Annual Victory Day Celebration

The Tiffin University Football Team will host its annual Victory Day celebration at the Frost Kalnow Stadium. Victory Day is a tradition for the Tiffin area community, giving cognitively or physically challenged children the opportunity to experience the sport in a supportive and caring environment.

Participants will have the chance to either play themselves or cheer on those playing with the TU team, run for touchdowns against a mock defense and will be presented with a medal at the end of the night to commemorate their victory. Children will also be paired up with a Dragon Buddy in the form of a Tiffin football player or cheerleader who will serve as their mentors throughout the experience. Each child will be introduced to the crowd as they run through a tunnel to a rousing introduction from the public address system and live band. Parents will be able to take pictures as their children cross onto the field.

“Victory Day is one of my favorite events that we do,” said Lonny Allen, Vice President of Athletics. “I think the impact on everyone involved is immeasurable. While it may look like our football staff, players, band and cheerleaders are giving to the community, I believe that we get so much more in return. I think the impact these special young people and their families make on our incredible Tiffin students is lifelong. I look forward to this day and hope that many people from the community come to support this incredible event.”
