Join the Seneca Regional Chamber Ambassadors as they host a ribbon cutting to celebrate the full launch of the Shelton Shuttle on May 26 at noon at the SCAT office.

The Seneca-Crawford Area Transportation (SCAT) was awarded funds through the Ohio Transit Partnership in 2020 to cover the cost of the Shelton Shuttle routes for two years. SCAT was also awarded four buses to be used for the Shelton Shuttle through CARES ACT funds.

However, due to COVID and delay of manufacturing/parts, SCAT received two buses in June 2021 and two additional buses recently.

Shelton Shuttle is a Deviated Flex Route system operated by SCAT. Buses can deviate ¾ of a mile from a scheduled stop. Passengers need to call the request prior to the scheduled stop.

Currently, there are two routes up and running, The Blue Route operates Monday through Saturday, and the Red Route operates Monday through Friday.

The Blue Route starts at City Lot 6. It goes to both Heidelberg University and Tiffin University and across the business areas of West Market and to Walmart and Tiffin Mercy Hospital, returning to City Lot 6.

The Red Route starts at City Lot 6. It goes to residential areas including Highland and South Ridge Trailer Park, Duchess Lane, St. Francis, Country Set Apts. This route also goes to Human Service agencies, Seneca County Department of Job & Family Services, Seneca County Veterans Service Office, SCAT, Tiffin Community YMCA, Tiffin-Seneca Public Library, returning to City Lot 6. Both the Blue and Red Routes meet at City Lot 6.

The White Route will begin at Willow Creek Apt, City Lot 6, Apple-Jack Park and Oakley Park, and several industrial businesses located in or near the industrial parks. This route will operate Monday through Friday and run three times per day, during peak shift changes. The start date for the White Route is still tentative.

The cost is $1 per trip. Transfers from one route to another are free. Shelton Shuttle offers a discounted fare for Elderly and Disabled (E&D) passengers. Those that qualify, the fare is $ .50 per trip. To qualify for this discount, passengers must complete an E & D form. Passes can be purchased from the driver or at the SCAT office.
