Proceeds to benefit Gym Class Heroes.

On April 27, 2024, Gym Class Heroes will hold its first one-day event with a 5K Run/Walk, First Steps to Fitness (1 mile run/walk), and a silent auction at Hoernemann Stadium on Heidelberg's campus. The goal of this event is to encourage everyone to be active. Anyone can participate in either race, and there will be activities on the field throughout the event. All proceeds from this event will go toward renting space to hold affordable fitness classes and purchasing fitness equipment for schools and individuals.

Gym Class Heroes was created by Heidelberg students who had a passion for improving overall health. The mission of Gym Class Heroes is to provide affordable opportunities for all people to have access to and feel comfortable exercising. Additionally, Gym Class Heroes hopes to work with schools to provide better equipment for physical education classes and provide take-home items such as jump ropes and tennis shoes for children who cannot afford them.
