German Migration to Seneca County and Northwest Ohio

Tuesday, May 7, 2024 - 6:30pm

Address:
Tiffin-Seneca Public Library
77 Jefferson St
Tiffin, OH 44883

Becky Hill will explore the very large population of Seneca County families with German roots, discussing when and where their ancestors came from before Seneca County and how they migrated to the area.

When and where did our many German ancestors come from before Seneca County?
Did you know that the 2022 census data gives German as the highest ethnicity percentage in the County?
Were they immigrants directly from the "Old Country” or were they earlier immigrants who came to America even before the Revolution and then migrated here?

Becky is a founding member and officer of the Society, formed in 1981. She was employed as Head Librarian of the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library from 1984 to 2018 and is still active in the Society and still tracing her family tree.
